Understanding the changes to our legal structure

What's happening?

Quilter Financial Planning is simplifying its business structure. Over time, we have grown and changed, which means our business structure has become more complex. As a result, we're consolidating our legal entities so that all the financial advice firms will be connected to a single entity within Quilter, called Quilter Financial Services.

You don't need to do anything. The changes to our legal structure won't impact the security of your finances or the products or services you currently hold. You continue to enjoy the same levels of consumer protection that you did before, and Quilter Financial Services continues to be regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Why is Quilter doing this?

By making our business structure simpler, we can:

  • Make things more efficient: A clearer structure helps us work more smoothly behind the scenes, so we can continue to maintain and improve our high-quality services for you.
  • Focus on supporting your adviser: When things are simpler internally, we can spend more time providing the best possible support to your financial adviser, ultimately helping them to serve you better.
  • Prepare for the future: A more straightforward structure makes Quilter more adaptable and ready for any potential changes in the financial services landscape.

What do I need to do?

You don't need to do anything. This is a change happening between Quilter Financial Planning and your financial adviser

The only change you will see will be to the documents you receive from your adviser, for example, in the legal footnotes. This will now include the name ‘Quilter Financial Services’, which appears where you might have seen a different Quilter company name before. Your adviser will keep you informed if there's anything specific you need to be aware of. They will also inform you when they have moved to the Quilter Financial Services legal entity when they meet with you in the future.
